THIS IS A NEW PRODUCT FROM GTS: This product is 100% GTS designed and built in accordance with GTS specifications. This vest is a layered Kevlar® and UHMWPE vest that offers protection from "contact shots" while maintaining a light weight (from the UHMWPE). Contact shots occur when a bullet is fired in close proximity. These types of incidents can result in the cartridge powder burning though some layers of PE, reducing their effectiveness. As part of a tactical solution, GTS is now offering this hybrid tactical vest that is layered with aramid on the outer, strike face to protect against these close area, contact type shots. This product offers NIJ IIIA level protection out of the box with the option of adding hard armor plates. Also included: Front, rear and sides plate carrier pockets! Vest has front, rear, left side and right side plate pockets built in. See specs for plate pocket sizes. This GTS vest is made with Kevlar® and Ultra-High-Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE) a lightweight, super strong material that has become the standard in soft body armor manufacturing. Our ballistic panels are specially layered with varying Kevlar® and PE densities to reduce backface deformation. Here is why our vest is superior to "bulletproof t-shirts": Our vest covers the sides of the body that are exposed when turning to flee or locate cover. Protecting the sides of the body is very important when considering a bullet resistant product. Our vests also have adjustable shoulder and frontal straps that hold ballistic materials in place, high enough to cover vulnerable arteries at the top of the heart. Some t-shirt products sag toward the waistline, exposing these vital areas. Our vests cover much more of the overall body, outside of the typical 10"X12" insertable soft armor located in most t-shirt products.

A "t-shirt" is not a "vest" on many levels. We encourage potential buyers to be aware of the differences. Please ask if you have questions about the differences between our true, bullet resistant vest that offers oustanding coverage and a "t-shirt" item. Ballistic Panel Material: Kevlar®, UHMWPE. Material of Shell: Nylon with adjustable sides & shoulders and upper straps with Velcro.

Hard armor plate pockets front/rear: will accomodate 10"x12" hard armor plates. Hard armor plate pockets sides: will accomodate 6" x 6" plates. Trauma Pad: Double thick, premium (front and rear ballistic panels).

Breathable mesh inner layer for comfort, wearability. Premium carry-bag with vinyl liner. For the 3XL size: The centerline vertical measurements of the ballistic panels are: 18" in the front and 19 3/4" in the rear. Size Height Weight Min-Max circumference (stomach or waist - use whichever measurement is larger). 31 1/2" to 35 1/2".

33 1/2" to 37 1/2". 35 1/2" to 39 1/2". 37 3/4" to 42 3/4".

41 1/2" to 45 1/2". Customers should typically order their t-shirt size. Please be aware that customers with large mid-sections may see some need to adjust the Velcro straps on the front, allowing separation of the front panel from the rear panel as needed for a comfortable fit. Oung man wearing this vest in the photos is wearing a medium vest, is about 5'8" tall and weighs about 140 pounds, a 33" waist and a 34"-35" chest circumference.

Please note the minimum numerical figure of each size range in the table above referring to waist or stomach sizes. The minimum size shown will result in a fully closed vest on the sides of the body. For a respective size, as the minimum number moves toward the maximum number in the range, the vest will separate along the sides to accommodate the body.

As with most vests, persons with stomach or waist sizes exceeding 41 1/2 should expect to have some opening along the sides as the vests are adjusted for proper fit. It should always be a main goal to close the vest sides as much as possible when wearing. Also, remember to adjust your vest high enough to cover the top of your heart and arteries in the top of the chest.

It is also possible for the vests to be adjusted BELOW the minimum adjustable range. For example, persons with waist or stomach sizes below 31 1/2 can still wear a small vest - the panels would just overlap along the sides. Face shields are manufactured in one size only.

In the course of transit, the vest and carry case may appear slightly wrinkled upon arrival. Use a household iron on LOW setting to improve this.

If inventories are depleted, rest assured that we are working to build up additional stock. This can take anywhere from 1-4 weeks.
